Intros.gr was chosen to upgrade, re-design and re-develop Piraeuspress.gr!

Sarantos Efstathopoulos, the publisher, came to us with a clear concept.

"I want to transform Piraeuspress.gr to an error free & fully functional portal that will become the main news resource for Piraeus citizens"

The existing site was not functional and the design was old-fashioned. Also requirements had changed over time and could no longer be handled efficiently by their existing solution.

Piraeuspress.gr is designed and developed with the use of powerful K2 content extension, K2 responsive scroller and many custom templating - module and plug-ins.

Another aspect that we have to handle with care was that we didn't want to lose the returning users due to "404 not found pages". So we managed to minimise the risk of losing Piraeuspress.gr user by modifying .htaccess.

Furthermore, this content rich site also required intros.gr to migrate the enormous amount of the portal data to the new Joomla CMS with zero losses and was achieved.Additionally, web design is fully responsive and cross browser tested, developed up on the principles of HTML5 and CSS3.

Finally Piraeuspress.gr is now online serving its visitors with high performance.

Our business with this long time friend and partner, Constantinos Spanos, co-founder of i-lovegreece,  started back in 2011 with the creation of a locally focused on-line tour guide – catalogue (ilovespetses.gr)

A year after, following the success of the project the client shared with us his vision to expand the idea and create the ultimate on-line guide for Greece.

That was the start of i-lovegreece.com!

The vision of this project was to bring the travel guide concept to the 21st century and provide a solution to the case. On the digital era a traveler must be able to have access to any information about the desired destination (including an extended business catalogue) before she/he travels but also to be able to carry it within her/his hands using his mobile devices.

The challenge of this project was focused on the design and the idea to make a big amount of data accessible on a way that it is easy, simple and pleasant to the average user.

The BETA version of the portal was launched on May 2012.

The final version of the portal which was launched on May 2014, is a completely different web-site due to the fact that many things have progressed over the years that followed after the lunch of BETA version.

The final version features:

• The upgraded version of Joomla
• A new solution to the case - layout (more focused on the vision of the project).
• Many custom modules such as various maps, extra fields filters, quick search category filters, on-line registration (for businesses)

After several years of collaboration with nextdeal.gr, the manager, Mr Kostis Spyrou, approached intros.gr looking for an upgrade for their portal by all means.

First, upgrade was made upon the latest stable version of Joomla! CMS.

Furthermore, we used the powerful K2 content extension, K2 responsive scroller, Frontpage Slideshow and Simple Image Gallery Pro.

After this crucial (mainly for security reasons) upgrade, we move into new design techniques, including a mobile version (responsive design) of the portal.

The rejuvenation of the portal started from the creation of a clean and modern web design and web development of new templates that met the needs of the portal users.

The next step was to pass to tableless structure and adopt, up to date HTML5 & CSS3.

The challenge was to migrate the enormous amount of the portal data to the new CMS with zero losses and was achieved. 

Last but not least, nextdeal.gr decided that itʼs time to focus on S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimization) in order to increase its page rank in comparison with their competitors.

Ιntros.gr made a deeply analysis on the statistical indexes and immediately started S.E.O. on-site setup which made it optimal for search engines.

In addition, intros.gr, suggested an Internet Marketing Strategy for nextdeal to follow, combined with Content Marketing & S.E.M. (Search Engine Marketing) Strategy.

Development of the portal based upon Joomla! CMS (2.5)
